ADAC Reisen is a subsidiary of the ADAC regional clubs, operating more than 250 travel agencies and the online portals adacreisen.de, galeria-reisen.de, and urlaub.de. The company offers package, individual, and group trips from all major tour operators, as well as holiday homes, camper vans, rental cars, ferries, cruises, and exclusive, curated travel deals for ADAC members.
A unique feature of ADAC Reisen is the combination of online offerings and physical travel agencies, which are operated as franchise businesses. To support this hybrid sales strategy and reach customers both online and offline, ADAC Reisen relies on the TravelSandbox® platform technology by freshcells.
The task was to redesign the existing ADAC Reisen websites with a scalable, future-proof, and technologically advanced digital platform solution. Several key challenges had to be addressed.
Technologies from Amadeus, combined with Kubernetes cloud hosting and proprietary products from freshcells – such as TravelSandbox®, freshMS, and Fusion – were used to meet the platform’s demanding requirements.
All connected sales channels were managed using individualized multi-client identifiers.
