360-Degree Sales Strategy

ADAC Reisen is a subsidiary of the ADAC regional clubs, operating more than 250 travel agencies and the online portals adacreisen.de, galeria-reisen.de, and urlaub.de. The company offers package, individual, and group trips from all major tour operators, as well as holiday homes, camper vans, rental cars, ferries, cruises, and exclusive, curated travel deals for ADAC members.

A unique feature of ADAC Reisen is the combination of online offerings and physical travel agencies, which are operated as franchise businesses. To support this hybrid sales strategy and reach customers both online and offline, ADAC Reisen relies on the TravelSandbox® platform technology by freshcells.

Technical and Structural Challenges

  • Combining Online and Offline Travel Sales

    The new platform had to serve both online sales and the individual needs of in-store travel agencies. The goal was to seamlessly connect physical sales points with digital offerings to ensure a consistent customer experience across all channels. The platform also had to be flexible and rapidly adaptable to support new brands, in line with modern omnichannel sales strategies.
  • Integration and Customization of Multiple Booking Journeys

    Each of the 250+ travel agencies received its own digital booking journey, including affiliate ID assignment to attribute bookings correctly. In addition, comprehensive customization and optimization were required for integrating partner booking engines (IBEs). For core business areas like package holidays and hotels, a fully customizable booking flow using the Amadeus Leisure Webservice API was implemented.

    The central booking platform streamlines the customer process and ensures a seamless user experience across all types of travel – from package holidays to rental cars, cruises, and ferries.
  • Optimized Maintenance and Content Management

    Thanks to the multi-client platform, administrative effort is significantly reduced. Content can be managed centrally across all travel agencies while still allowing for individual adjustments.
  • Future-Proof

    A scalable architecture supports long-term enhancements and adaptation. Fusion allows for easy replacement and expansion of product sources, ensuring flexibility and diversity.
