Press Release

Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation EMEA relies on freshcells systems engineering and has new customer portals developed for 21 countries

The special feature: all portals are controlled from a central management system with a specially integrated user administration.

To meet these requirements, freshcells experts recommended, among other things, the use of the powerful headless CMS Contentstack and built a modern application architecture with various service modules. This controls the user permission management, based on Keycloak, the SMTP and direct marketing service MailJet and the in-house product system, which is based on SAP. The frontend is based on NextJS or ReactJS and is fully responsive. Visitors experience a clearly structured website and can enjoy many valuable information offers. As one of the market-leading automation manufacturers, the company offers innovative solutions for production all the way to the smart factory. A wide range of information is provided for each product and solution on the website. Complex, technical logics have been implemented for this purpose. But the product portfolio itself is also very extensive and should be adaptable to all individual circumstances. The completely redesigned and developed search function, especially for downloads, makes it possible to find the right document from thousands of documents in an extremely short time. In addition to the conception and development of the website portal, freshcells also took over the data migration from the previous solution, which is now more than ten years old. The task was to reconstruct grown and partly several times outdated structures in more than 50 databases, to consolidate the data and to prepare it for the new portal platform. The information from a total of over 25,000 registered users also had to be transferred. "The integration and use of heterogeneous data sources and the development of highly flexible and dynamic interfaces are our bread and butter business. We place a high value on reducing the amount of data between system components as well as the use of dynamic caches to achieve maximum performance," explains Tom Hülser, owner and managing director of freshcells systems engineering GmbH. Hülser explains further: "In the joint project with Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation EMEA, we were particularly interested in controlling the complexity in such a way that, in addition to the administration interface belonging to ContentStack, no separate administration area is required and yet the web platform with all areas can be easily maintained even by non-technically oriented editors. This reduces the running costs for Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation EMEA enormously.". Even though Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation EMEA will be able to map the entire content management via the headless CMS without external service providers for the first time, freshcells will continue to be an important partner. "We were looking for a provider who is able to penetrate the complexity of our project and is willing to work with us to develop a concept and solution that not only meets our current requirements, but also allows us to react flexibly to future challenges." Andrea Intveen, responsible manager for the online platform at Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation EMEA, describes their approach and continues, "We have a lot planned for the future and are glad to have found a partner in freshcells that is willing and able to actively support us in complex, digital projects."
