LCC launches new digital platform with CRM integration powered by freshcells

Freshcells becomes new technology partner for the website / The digital customer account forms the core of the new online platform

Frankfurt, 03 December 2025. Lufthansa City Center (LCC) is taking the next major step in its digital transformation: With the new multi-tenant e-commerce platform based on the TravelSandbox® by freshcells, the travel agency franchise network is creating a fully connected digital customer experience – from the first website visit to personalised in-store consultation. At the heart of the new online presence is a digital customer account that seamlessly links consulting, booking, and communication.

LCC is strengthening its position as a customer-focused travel distribution organisation with a clear emphasis on personalised services and digital customer interfaces. “Touch and Tech” has been the company’s guiding principle since 2019. Accordingly, the new platform is connected via interfaces to the Midoco mid-office system and the Numbirds CRM. “Everything is connected, online and offline. That is what we consider a holistic customer experience,” says LCC CEO Markus Orth. Digital customer account as a hub for personalised services The new customer account allows travellers to centrally manage their bookings and favourite offers. At the same time, LCC travel agencies gain access to up-to-date customer data and travel interests, enabling them to tailor consultations to individual needs. “The platform is flexible in both directions: towards suppliers for more content, and towards the customer for deeper segmentation and specialisation,” Orth explains. The new platform is built on a MACH architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) by freshcells. As a result, all booking data is centrally available and can be used in digital sales channels as well as in physical LCC travel agencies. “For Lufthansa City Center to choose our TravelSandbox® is an important sign of trust. Together, we are building the technological foundation for a future-proof travel distribution ecosystem where digital excellence and personal consulting go hand in hand. Travel agencies benefit from optimised workflows, and end customers enjoy smooth, transparent processes,” says freshcells CEO Tom Hülser. The central website lufthansa-city-center.com/de is now live in a modern, responsive design. Customers can navigate the LCC travel offering intuitively, efficiently, and across all devices. In the next step, digitally savvy LCC partners will be migrated to the new technology. “These travel agencies receive our modular system in LCC design and can manage their own content under their own URL,” explains Tim Holzapfel, Head of Marketing, Online and CRM at Lufthansa City Center, who oversees the project.
